[Monitor] Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta is on a state visit in Uganda. Mr Kenyatta came along with his wife Margaret
and son Muhoho, together with a delegation. Much as the visit is seen by many as political,
actions speak louder than words, if you want to know what the visit is all about.

Since 2004, the National Democratic Institute (NDI)
has supported Ugandan efforts to strengthen democratic
institutions and advance democratic reforms.
Uganda’s economic freedom score is 59.7, making its
economy the 92nd freest in the 2015 Index. Its score has
decreased by 0.2 point since last year, with improvements
in half of the 10 economic freedoms, including monetary
freedom and freedom from corruption, outweighed by
declines in fiscal freedom and property rights.
The World Bank director of human development for the Africa region,
Ritva Reinikka, has stressed the importance of Uganda and her peers
in Africa to put an equal emphasis on human capital development
just like they have been doing with infrastructure if they
are to transition to the next level.
