Service providers, partners and technologists are asked to take the pledge and help close the digital divide
AURORA, Ill., September 16, 2020 (Newswire.com) - WAV, a value-added distributor that “makes the internet work,” is asking service providers, integrators, partners and technologists to join the Million Feet of Cable challenge. This challenge asks technology partners to sign a virtual pledge and receive a digital pledge package that will help them to have conversations about bridging the digital divide.
“Most people don’t see behind the curtain and understand that to achieve high bandwidth, you need a structured cabling system that supports your infrastructure,” says Zach Hubeck, vice president of Sales and Marketing at WAV. “It isn’t tongue in cheek when we say wires create the wireless that we all want.”
WAV’s goal is for the industry to take one million steps forward in bringing technology and infrastructure to where it’s needed most today. This is an opportunity for the industry to work together and elevate businesses and communities across the country.
The technology industry has an obligation to keep building the infrastructure of the internet so that advanced applications are possible for business, residential and public entities across the United States. According to a Pew Research Institute study conducted in April 2020, 53% of Americans say the internet has been essential during the COVID-19 pandemic.
